Woods Used:
- The white sections of this board are Curly Maple. Curly Maple is not a specific spieces of wood but, a more rare version of regular maple. It commonly occurs in soft maple, although, its exact cause is unknown. It is reffered to as "Curly" due to the visual ripples in the grain which causes the wood to look curled. Traditionally, Curly maple would be used in the construction of violins, leading to alternate names such as "fiddleback" or "Tiger Maple".
- The red sections are African Padouk. African Padauk is an imported exotic wood that comes from Central and tropical west Africa. Its heartwood color can vary, ranging from a pale pinkish orange to a deep brownish red. Most pieces tend to start reddish orange although will darken over time to a reddish/purplish brown.
